Tigers Compete At Bulldog Limited

ATHENS, Ga- The Savannah State track & field team participated in the Bulldog Limited hosted by the University of Georgia at the Spec Towns Track.

For the SSU women, Mekela Martin was sixth in the 400m. In the 100m hurdles, CaLisha Crowder was 14th and Victoria Burch was 15th. Burch was fourth in the 400m hurdles. The 4x200m relay team of DaLisha Crowder, Katryna Williams, Martin and C. Crowder finished third while the 4x400m relay team of Burch, Martin, Williams and D. Crowder placed fifth. Sharonda Redfield was eighth in the long jump, Williams was 12th and D. Crowder was 13th. In the triple jump, D. Crowder placed eighth.

Ron Truell was 10th in the men's 100m race and Willie Ross was tied with three others for 11th. Vernon Williams was seventh in the 400m while Joe Ferguson was 11th. Tyrone McCoy was 13th in the one mile run. In the 110m hurdles, Marcus Stallworth was fifth and Ross was right behind in the sixth spot. Stallworth was eighth in the 400m hurdles. The 4x400m relay squad of O'Bryan Clemons, Ferguson, Stallworth and Williams finished sixth. In the long jump, Chris Blount was tied for fourth and Shawn Sovnenir was sixth. Blount was second in the triple jump and Sovnenir was third.
